Slate

Natural Durability

A slate roof is one of the most aesthetically pleasing and durable of all roofing possibilities. It is dramatically formed by nature and can transform your building or home into a showcase. After proper installation, slate roofs require relatively little maintenance and will last 40 to 75 years or longer depending on the type of slate, roof configuration, and location of the property.

Slate is the perfect combination of beauty and practicality. Natural slate is petrified sea bed, making it not only the most naturally unique in design, but also 100% recyclable. Slate comes in gray, green, purple, black, and red. A mottling effect can further the intricacy of your roof by mixing these colors together, the most common being gray-black, gray-green, and green-purple.

Traditional slate roofing tiles are heavy and require certain building specifications to handle such weight.  Today, modern innovations have made it possible to have real slate with the weight of most other roofing products, therefore making it attainable to any building owner.

Newer to the market is composite slate roofing, with the look and durability of natural slate but with a lighter weight load.  Other options for natural roofing materials are clay tile, copper and wood.
